- Secretary-Head Start/Early Head Start
- Salisbury, Md.
Provides administrative support regarding the work flow of the Head Start/Early Head Start centers.
- Performs administrative duties that contributes to effective day-to-day program operations. This includes handling incoming inquiries, maintaining filing and necessary documents, maintaining confidential information, attending meetings and recording minutes, preparing reports, preparing purchase order requisitions, coordinating inventory, ordering supplies, and accounts payable items.

Plans and implements daily developmentally appropriate classroom curriculum activities and experiences for up to eight infants and toddlers; designed to improve school readiness skills.
- Develops and executes an ongoing program that includes group and individual activities, as well as hands-on indoor/outdoor experiences that contribute to the care, growth and development of infants and toddlers.
- Maintains a safe and healthy environment that encourages creativity and freedom of expression. Administers social, emotional and developmental screenings on children and submits referrals of children with atypical development. Records daily observations while conducting ongoing educational assessments. Prepares timely and accurate school readiness analysis. Provides weekly home learning activities to families that reinforces skills and classroom activities.
- Collaborates with other agencies for educational services. Provides related confidential consultation that meets family needs. Advocates for children and families as a resource.
- Assists in recruiting and enrolling eligible children. Assists in maintaining attendance standards. Maintains related files. Assists in maintaining MSDE Accreditation compliance and requirements.Must have a high school diploma or GED and prior experience with 0-5 years of age – ideally with infants and toddlers. Must obtain the CDA credential within six months of hire. Must also provide documentation of continuing education training for MSDE Office of Child Care credentialing. Must pass a medical examination, TB test and criminal background investigation. Must also maintain current First Aid and CPR certification for infants and toddlers.
- Clerical Specialist
- Salisbury, Md.
Provides administrative support that ensures the efficient operation of the CSBG C.A.R.E.S program.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of 3 years related experience. This experience includes prior administrative support performing the aforementioned functions. Must have knowledge of relevant software applications (MS Office); email and internet proficiency; excellent numeric, keyboard, office management systems/procedures, time management and data management skills.
- Family Services Worker/Family Advocate

Provides comprehensive case management, goal setting and linkages to service, advocacy and evaluation for children and families enrolled in the Head Start and Early Head Start Program.
- Recruit, enroll and obtain appropriate records of children and families to ensure full enrollment and waitlists.
- Actively links families.
- Aids families in identifying needs and community resources.
- Record and update caseload information.
- Actively participate in parent or group meetings, community collaborations and affiliations that advocate for Head Start/Early Head Start children and families
- Refer families and children to SHORE UP! resources and community organizations for social service needs.
- Assist families with transportation to meetings and medical appointments.
The ideal candidate has a minimum of one year of human services experience; an associate degree in Early Childhood Education with 12+ college credit hours of Early Childhood Education coursework and prior teaching experience. The ideal candidate may also have current Home Visitor Credential certification, current I/T CDA Credential certification, or current Preschool CDA Credential certification with 30 hours of comparable competencies specific to the infant and toddler age group. Must be willing and able to obtain a Credential or Certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or related field within 18 months of hire.
- Head Start Secretary

Assist the Site Coordinator with administrative functions within the Head Start Center.

Provides manual health/safety functions within the Head Start program.
- Performs student and staff temperature assessments

- Provides cleaning services that ensures building/property cleanliness, health and safety. This includes dusting, mopping, sanitizing, sweeping, trash removal, vacuuming, waxing, washing and wiping.
- Identifies potential maintenance concerns for repair and related improvements
- Maintains cleaning supply inventory, and ensures soap, paper towels and toilet tissue are adequately maintained for utilization.
- Replaces light bulbs, tubes, switches, outlets and ceiling tile.
- Moves and rearranges furniture, loads/unloads delivery trucks and delivers packages.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and prior related experience. Must successfully meet pre-employment requirements that include a criminal background investigation, physical examination and TB assessment.

Responsible for the planning and implementation of daily classroom curriculum activities for a group of up to 20 children, 3 and 4 years old. The teacher will assist in the delivery of health, education, and social services to Head Start children and their families, including those with disabilities. The Head Start teacher must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any field and 25 credits in Early Childhood Education, or an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and one year of preschool experience. The teacher may also have an Associate’s degree in Early Education, Child Development, Special Ed, Human Development/Ecology, Child & Studies, Psychology – birth to 8, Social Work-birth to 8, and 18 credits in Early Childhood Education.

Assist the Teacher in the performance of daily classroom activities and duties to prepare the children for school readiness. The Teacher’s Aide must possess a High School Diploma or GED, and Child Care I & II. Teacher’s Aides must also be willing to enroll in courses and/or training, in addition to having one year of teaching experience. Training is provided for CDA Credentials. Candidates must pass a criminal background check prior to employment.
