SHORE UP! Inc. is now offering its FREE Tax Preparation Program for eligible individuals through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA). If you make less than $56,000 annually, you may be eligible to obtain free tax preparation at one of two convenient locations.
SHORE UP! Inc.’s FREE Tax Preparation Program takes place Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at SHORE UP! Inc. The agency is located at 500 Snow Hill Rd. in Salisbury, Md. Tax preparation will extend through Saturday, April 11 at this location. The second location is in the Student Development Center’s Upward Bound Room (2240) at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Preparation at UMES is being held Fridays only, Feb. 7 through March 27, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Mitchell. “That is why we continue to deliver programs to our community such as free tax preparation. This service will save money for individuals already facing the mounting costs of life’s other essentials. Our program will also allow clients to receive free tax preparation from professionals who have received the necessary training.”
