Wicomico County, through a grant from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, has been awarded $7,380,680 in funds to assist Wicomico County residents in need of emergency rental and utility assistance. SHORE UP! Inc. is one of three grant subrecipients, receiving $1,075,000 in grant funds.

To be eligible for ERAP Assistance, a household must meet all four eligibility criteria:

Rent Status

Tenant obligated to pay rent on a residential dwelling

Income

Household income at or below 80% of Area Median Income as defined by HUD

Financial Hardship

1 or more individuals qualified for unemployment assistance

OR

Experienced a reduction in household income incurred significant costs, or other financial hardship directly or indirectly, to the COVID19 outbreak

Housing Instability

Demonstrated risk of housing instability, which may include:

• A past due utility or rent notice or eviction notice

• Unsafe or unhealthy living conditions, OR

• Any other evidence of such risk, as determined by DHCD

Income Qualifications

Recipients must be at or below 80% gross income for the number of people in your household.
